The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with the day-to-day financial responsibilities in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth analysis of operations and maintenance costs.
- Monitor the budget and spending status of assigned divisions and report on financial results to key stakeholders. Able to understand complex funding and cost allocation plan.
- Prepare, monitor, and analyze financial information to ensure the ongoing management of finances meets approved budgets and reporting requirements.
- Work with division personnel to produce accurate budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual submittals. Perform periodic Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for management.
- Compile and review annual budget submissions for accuracy with division personnel. Assists with ensuring that funder budgets are converted into fiscal-year operating budget.
- Ensure that expenses are allocated according to the cost allocation plan, are allowable, necessary, and reasonable. Review requisitions, and expense submittals for account coding accuracy, proper cost allocation, and funder requirements. Research and prepare adjusting journal entries in a timely manner during monthly and year-end closing cycles.
- Orient and provide technical assistance to staff regarding financial procedures and required documentation; ensure financial records of the division meet all requirements,
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of financial experience (non-profit experience is not required Training or Competency.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Operational knowledge of general ledger software.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial information in varying formats.
- Ability to learn Start Early and funder rules and regulations and able to apply the guidelines in the activity of the Finance Division.
- Must be able to work extended hours during peak periods. Ability to work with diverse staff and interface with all levels of management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, address shifting priorities, exercise independent judgment, and accomplish assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling and protecting confidential information and materials.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas, thoughts, and concepts clearly and effectively.

- Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
- Comfort and experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.
