Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; take reservations and payment for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return; decorates recreation center for special events, activities, or parties; inspects facilities and equipment to assure safe condition and cleanliness; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquires about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled; assist the Director with inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks. Reports all accidents and unruly incidents to Director. Assists in boat rentals, motors, and sales of food, beverage, gasoline, and other related items. Occasionally monitors stock at or within prescribed levels and establishes or adjusts stock levels and records using prescribed procedures. Initiates, prepares edits and processes requisitions to appropriate vendors. Receives, examines, and verifies orders; notes overages, shortages, or any damage incurred in shipping, issues supplies to various activities/personnel. Maintains supply/inventory database; prepare reports as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS: Practical knowledge of recreational/boating activities, rules, and procedures highly desirable. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to explain and demonstrate how to do the work. Must be able to lift up to and including 40 pounds. Must be 18 years of age. Position is a Position of Trust successful completion of a National Agency Check (NAC) required. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must certify that he or she can swim and may be required to prove that at any time.
