The Education Coordinator is responsible for the management and day-to-day administration of the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited residency program in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as four non-ACGME fellowships. This analytical position is responsible for the continued growth of these programs and is payroll manager for all residents and fellows (currently 24). This position works closely with the program directors, faculty, and GME (Graduate Medical Education) office in the School of Medicine (SOM) to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures, compliance with the ACGME as well as any other certifying bodies (Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Head and Neck Society).

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) provides service for UCSF’s five integrated facilities: Mission Bay Hospitals, Moffitt/Long Hospitals, San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), and Mt. Zion Medical Center.
