NATURE OF WORK

This position is a Fair Labor Standards Act Salaried/Exempt position under the supervision of the President/CEO.

The nature of the position includes negotiating with sub-contractors for delivery of services and determining guidelines in the framework of existing policies. Initiative and original thinking are often required to find new approaches and methods of service delivery.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall administration of the Nutriiton (Senior Dining Sites and Meals on Wheels), Recreation, Transportation and Caregiver programs including program personnel
Monitor and evaluate nutrition, transportation and recreation standards and compliance with funding source guidelines
Supervise and maintain all Community Services' records within funding source requirements
Ensure Senior Dining Sites compliance with Health Department and Department of Elder Affairs standards
Oversee management of agency vehicle fleet to include evaluation, coordination and execution of maintenance and repairs
Conduct staff in-service training
Conduct ride-alongs with Meals on Wheels volunteers when necessary
Assist in the preparation of grant applications and budgets
Make public appearances on behalf of the Council on Aging of West Florida to include both informal and formal speeches
Recruit Community Services Menu Review Committee members and schedule quarterly meetings
Investigate community resources for effective service delivery
Other duties as asigned by the President/CEO
BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology or related field
Four years experience in a social service or health-related field preferred
A Master's Degree in social work or a related field may be substituted for two years of required experience
Experience in direct supervision and management required
Knowledge and experience in managing grant projects preferred
Forida Food Manager's Certification preferred (position requires attendance and successful completion of Certification if selected)
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organization and leadership skills
Knowledge and understanding of community resources and service delivery programs
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to complete reports
Ability to delegate tasks and monitor results
Neat, sharp professional appearance
Ability to relate to and interact with the elderly and disabled
Proficient in use of Microsoft Products
Positions located within the Council on Aging of West Florida require a valid Florida driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, dependable automobile, drug/alcohol testing and successful completion of Level II background screening as a condition of employment.

ANNUAL SALARY: $40,00 - $42,000 (based on experience), plus excellent benefit package including health, life, disability retirement and PTO benefits.
