The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will coordinate marketing, brand awareness, social platforms and other media relations for SC Thrive with the goal of increasing community understanding SC Thrive’s mission. The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator should have a solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on all channels. The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with development and implementation of the organization’s strategic marketing communication plan, in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans and priorities
  • Create and keep promotional materials ready; inventory stocked; place orders; verify receipt
  • Research and create interesting and interactive Facebook posts/Tweets (and other social media outlets) to build an audience and continue to tell SC Thrive's story
  • Video staff, counselors, clients and other stakeholders to post on social media outlets
  • Research and understand information pertaining to SC Thrive and all programs to help create marketing materials, plan campaigns including print materials, direct mail, giveaways
  • Successfully become an SC Thrive counselor, perform client intake and interviews; utilize online application system interface, perform data entry, maintain client confidentiality at all times
  • Plan, manage and coordinate website content and social media presence on multiple platforms
  • Use and understand case management system and all other SC Thrive software systems
  • Work with outside vendors for print and publishing services
  • Prepare graphics and designs for professional printing
  • Research, write and coordinate the distribution of press releases to media. Serve as point of contact for media outlets in arranging interviews and media attendance at events
  • Promote SC Thrive at conferences and events annually; create and update displays as needed
  • Manage SC Thrive’s digital media outreach, including content generation and brand management for emails, blogs, website, and social media websites
  • Design and produce SC Thrive’s newsletters
  • Measure, track, and evaluate SC Thrive’s marketing strategy according to industry best practices and modify strategy accordingly
  • Assist with SCT’s website management
  • Create 30 second TV and radio spots to air statewide
  • Become a SC Thrive trainer and conduct trainings as applicable

Additional Duties

  • Experience in or displays comprehension of federal and state programs and benefits;
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to work with people from various socioeconomic backgrounds and thrive in diverse environments;
  • Excellent communicator and writer with experience as a spokesperson who can articulate

messages to different audiences—ability to successfully present at conferences/events

  • Ability to multitask and work well within time constraints
  • Displays ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and be a self-starter
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design software programs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, required insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to worksites in and outside of South Carolina
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends (including multiple overnights)
  • Willingness to assist with special projects

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least one year of marketing experience, web design or management
