Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the unloading, distribution, and staging of products on project sites; Organize and take inventory of all hardware; ; Communicate with project management team or assigned project manager as well as the site superintendent; Track change orders, missing hardware, and other site issues.
Responsible oversight and management of crew
5+ years’ experience as a foreman or operator/lead man preferably with experience in commercial installation/supermarket refrigeration products and whole store remodels
Supervise and direct crew including operators, pipe layers and laborers
Thorough knowledge and experience with cost controls
Manages, communicates, and enforces production goals and schedules with the crew
Knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required.
May assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
Proven leadership qualities with the ability to effectively and efficiently run a job and crew.
Ability to create and modify work schedules to adapt to ever-changing construction deadlines, delays, and weather obstacles.
Able to conduct, and document toolbox safety meetings.
Organizational skills necessary to manage and maintain highly productive work environment at all times.
Solid customer service skills with a proven track record of effective communication on all levels from; General Contractor, Subcontractor, Inspector, Laborer, etc.
Respect the importance of ensuring Company assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, etc.); are properly and continuously maintained in good repair and secured in a safe and secure manner.
General knowledge of construction practices and familiarity with equipment, including routine service and maintenance; washing, check fluids, tire pressures, grease, etc.
Able to read blueprints
Able to perform accurate material takeoffs and procure materials as necessary
Able to assist w/sourcing local subcontractors when necessary
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. College degree preferred.
Computer Skills – must have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email) and other system applications currently being used (Maxwell, etc.).
Be a champion of safety - must abide by all safety protocol and be an example to others when safety is an issue.
Must be able to communicate in both written and verbal form professionally and respectfully.
Spanish fluency a plus
Proficient in reading construction blueprints, specifications and contract documents for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Must have good mechanical experience and skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Travel when required. Work shifts vary and are driven by project requirements.
In performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen. The employee is required to stand and walk throughout the work day; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stop, crouch and kneel. Occasionally the employee may have to lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs. Driving long distances is required and vision requirements include close, color and peripheral ability for this particular role.
This position works in a typical active field project environment. The noise level is usually moderate, but can be excessively loud with hearing protection required (along with other PPE). This person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, but not limited to hearing, eye, foot, hand protection.
