GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial compliance and accountability of contract and grant management Responsible for tactical operations for Finance and Accounting, to include: • GAAP compliant financial reporting, • maintenance of accounting records, • comprehensive controls and budgets Provide functional leadership as primary back-up to Vice President of Finance Professional demonstration of Goodwill core values (CARES+) to align with of strategic goals and mission. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate should have the qualifications and experience to effectively perform the following duties Grant Compliance and Management 1. Monitor and administer state and federal grants to ensure compliance with financial requirements 2. Manage monthly invoicing and quarterly reporting for respective funding agency or grant providers 3. Coordinate all fiscal monitorings with funding agency or grant providers 4. Understand all aspects of the specific grants and contracts 5. Prepare and present monthly financial performance reports relative to grant budget(s) to internal stakeholders 6. Maintain current knowledge-set for all OMB rules and regulations to include the Uniform Grant Guidance 7. Facilitate annual compliance training for grant employees
Finance and Accounting 8. Successful manage typical finance and accounting functions to include but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Revenue and Cash Receipts, Payroll, Inventory, Debt Management, Fixed Assets and/or Capital Projects 9. Developing, implementing and monitoring internal controls over financial reporting, financial recordkeeping and transaction processing 10. Timely reconciliation of detailed reports to general ledger including bank balances and subsidiary ledgers for all control accounts 11. Assist VP of Finance, to manage monthly closing procedures and all required journal entries to generate timely internal financial reports including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and budget versus actual report, for use by stakeholders to include internal management and Board of Directors 12. Coordinate and facilitate external audit process(es) to produce accurate financial statements and Form 990. Other 13. Manage annual budget process to include training all Vice President’s and Department Heads use of budgeting software, adherence to established timeline(s) prior to internal reviews and approvals 14. Responsible staffing and development of Finance/Accounting staff to include but not limited: performance management, professional development, and organizational engagement required to maximize organizational, departmental, and personal goals and objectives 15. Effectively communicate with business partners which require fiscal guidance and/or organizational impact 16. Prepare, present, and explain special projects. 17. Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Education: Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced degree and/or CPA, preferred. Work Experience: Successful candidate should possess: • 5 years documented success in progressive management and leadership in Accounting or Finance • 3-5 years of grant management or audit experience • Software implementation, Qualifications: Successful candidate should possess: • Familiarity with Corporate Accounting, Regulatory issues, laws, etc governing non-profit agencies • Above average presentation, verbal, and written communications skills • Ability to effectively engage with diverse groups Must possess and maintain valid South Carolina Drivers’ License Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include sitting for extended periods of time, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, handling, lifting, pushing, and pulling as well as other generally accepted physical requirements. The associate may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Safety & Security: Report all accidents, however slight, to your supervisor immediately.
