Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation, Cloud Systems Engineer Senior Associate – Advanced Technology and Digital Solutions

Enterprise Technology Strategy and Innovation (ETSI) is the newest business line in the Advisory practice. Our practice is dedicated to advising CIOs and technology leaders, and helping them navigate the ever-changing digital landscape as a true business partner in the C-suite. The ETSI team consists of highly skilled subject matter experts in Enterprise Technology Strategy, Information Technology Service Management, Advanced Technology and Digital Solutions, IT Strategic Sourcing and Technology Resource Effectiveness who bring dedicated focus to the business of technology. Position Summary
This is an Experienced Cloud Systems Engineer senior associate position within our Advanced Technology and Digital Solutions service line where we use Digital Innovation and Delivery to create business focused technical models that quickly increase innovation, adoption and alignment. The objective is to deliver cutting edge solutions and roadmaps that ensure successful resource utilization for the new digital age. Organizations often fail when it comes to leveraging their internal talent with new and cutting edge capabilities. ETSI has developed proven tools and methodologies to help engage the current workforce.

The Experienced Cloud Systems Engineer senior associate leads the migration client discussions and/or project teams that deliver cloud migration services to clients. You are responsible for delivering cloud migration services on time and on budget, managing quality control, while maintaining (and building) client relationships. You will coach and develop junior staff and project team members in alignment with the ETSI practice strategy. As a member of the ETSI team, you will participate in solution set development, and collateral development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains currency on the emerging cloud technologies, processes and practices that need to be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the Advanced Technology and Digital Solutions solution set so that ETSI can respond to the needs of the CIO
Supports the mission and vision of the Advanced Technology & Digital Solutions practice to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset.
Supports Advanced Technology & Digital Solutions project teams in the assessment of external market and internal cloud technology capabilities required to achieve desired competitive positioning
Supports and may lead cloud migration projects using design thinking and agile methodologies to develop production ready solutions.
Maintain expert knowledge of current features, planned future capabilities, and limitations of leading commercial cloud platforms (AWS, MS Azure, etc.)
Evaluate customer requirements and design compliant, cost-effective architectural solutions that meet customer application, security, technology, and business requirements and seek to reduce the overall cost of sustaining the clients' systems and applications in the cloud
Develop solutions for migrating legacy or early stage technology to cloud environments
Evaluate and have a firm understanding of emerging technologies and trends for high performance distributed computing within cloud infrastructures
Provide solution and service engineering activities, i.e. proof-of concepts, pilots, use case development, solution validation, workshops, and enablement
Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of different Network and Cloud technologies and supporting solution areas and develop new technology integrations and solution capabilities
Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve virtualization, software defined networking, cloud infrastructure, management and security, including integration with select 3rd party products
Develop and release of sales, technical, and service delivery collaterals including deployment guides, best practices, sizing whitepapers and solution reference architectures
Work directly with mission partners and other customers to guide them through the web-based ordering, delivery, and billing processes
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Data Science or STEM related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
7+ years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function, i.e. digital agency, servicing multi-million dollar cloud implementation projects, servicing cross-industry
Understands and has implemented methodology to migrate into cloud
Knows how to perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis in cloud
Knows how to generate business cases
Experience with DoD, DISA, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Manufacturing preferred
Ability to work additional hours and/or travel 50-70%
Required Skills to be successful
Working knowledge of cloud management technologies such as CliQr, Agility, vRealize, ServiceNow, Cloud Checkr, VM Turbo and others.
Experience with cloud system and application migration and generation of related business case.
Familiarity with migration processes and technologies such as EMC Adaptivity, Racemi, and others.
Deep knowledge of security standards such as FedRAMP, FISMA and SRG
Knowledge of PaaS offerings such as Redhat Openshift, Cloud Foundry, or Docker is preferred
Knowledge designing CI/CD tool chain, PaaS, and enabling DevOps in a cloud environment
Exceptional cloud technology skillset, both verbal and hands on
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively to C level cliental
Ability to work in a team environment
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and inspire team
Effective influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
Strong ability to manage multiple programs, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and switch between assignments quickly
Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge in cloud innovative technologies
Ability to identify and leverage resources internally and externally to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that drive the client and Grant Thornton business
