Dority & Manning is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to serve with the leadership team and support the firm’s continuous growth. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for implementing and overseeing all aspects of the firm’s day-to-day operations. This individual must also provide leadership and direction to ensure the firm achieves set objectives that align with the strategic business plan, budget, and firm culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management – As an integral part of the management team, this individual must provide leadership and direction on strategic operating and business decisions including growth planning, business development, risk management, quality control, organizational development, firm planning processes, and other general management functions.

Finance – Oversee the financial operations of the firm, including financial analysis and consultation regarding revenue elements such as profitability studies, utilization, realization, and billing rates for each practice area. Manage operating expenses and improve efficiencies where appropriate.

Human Resources - Oversee the HR functions, including: recruitment, onboarding, retention, compensation and benefits administration, professional training and development. Effectively motivate and lead your team to successfully achieve the firm’s goals.

Systems - Manage the evaluation, selection and implementation of appropriate technologies and systems that support and align with the firm's operational goals and business strategy. Oversee contract negotiation and other agreements.

Marketing - Forecast business opportunities; assist in client development and marketing of legal services.

Qualifications

  • Motivated by results and relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in a senior management role having financial oversight and/or profit and loss responsibility.
