Golden Tech Systems requires the services of an Audio Visual Technician. The primary duties for this position include the configuration and implementation of audiovisual solutions and providing technical assistance to customers in support of the Department of Information Technology (DIT)’s Video service offerings.
The DIT provides technology services to state agencies, local governments, and educational institutions across North Carolina. Services include hosting, network and video services, telecommunications, and enterprise services such as email and calendaring, large centralized mainframe and managed client/server computer services, and software and technical support to centralized and distributed clients.
The NCDIT Service Delivery organization provides for the central provisioning of the services offered by NCDIT, including data, voice and video for the State of North Carolina and other authorized government and public sector entities. The Service Delivery team designs, develops and maintains the North Carolina Information Network (NCIN), the State’s official secure data communications network. NCIN is a multiprotocol, router-based Wide Area Network providing statewide data communications and Internet connectivity to all Executive Branch agencies and participating non-Executive public sector entities.
Primary Purpose of the Position
This position will be part of the Video Network Services group of the DIT-Network Operations division. Primary duties for this position include the configuration and implementation of audiovisual solutions and providing technical assistance to customers in support of DIT’s Video service offerings.
In addition, this position will be responsible for:
Recommend A/V Solutions based on Customer Requirements
Technical liaison between customer and vendor
Provide end user training of A/V systems including (but not limited to):
Provide end user support with Webinars, Video Streaming and other A/V related areas
Assist in recording trainings / presentations
Track A/V Equipment and supplies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Recommended in this Position include:
Considerable knowledge in configuration, use and management of video conferencing hardware/software, video streaming, webinars and technologies involved
Demonstrated ability to prepare technical specifications, design and fabricate network component parts, diagnose and resolve AudioVisual problems, and work with other technical personnel in negotiating situations;
Hardware: Experience with Crestron, Cisco and Polycom video solutions
Software: Microsoft Skype, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx
Demonstrated ability to evaluate business and technical needs and specify methods and equipment to meet those needs.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff across all technical & management levels.
Knowledge of ITIL concepts desired.
Education and Experience Recommended includes the following:
Graduation from a two-year college with a degree in broadcasting or related discipline and two-years’ experience in AudioVisual field. Equivalent experience acceptable.
Experience in all aspects of operational support in a dynamic AudioVisual environment.
Experience with multi-platform environments
Experience in implementation of new technology.
Demonstrated competency in project management in a cross-functional environment and experience in managing resources to meet goals on multiple projects.
Specific qualifications required (min 3 years)
Knowledge in configuration, use and management of video conferencing hardware/software, video streaming, webinars and technologies involved
