Mercy College is inviting applicants to apply for the position of Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Operations and Facilities.
This position will manage the administrative, operational and budgetary functions of the VP for Operations and Facilities’ office, and assist with the strategic and capital planning initiatives of the division. This position will provide administrative support to the VP for Operations and Facilities, a senior officer of the college, in developing a thorough understanding of the priorities of Mercy College and its executive staff. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support functions, with extensive knowledge of operational and capital budgeting. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a key position within the college with diverse people and programs.
Experience and/or Skills Required
Administrative support and a minimum of 5-7 years of office management experience working with senior level administrators with increasing variety and/or flexibility.
Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Banner required, along with a high level of proficiency with Excel. Experience with project management software desired.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Able to work within an approved budget and use time and resources efficiently.
Must have vast knowledge of budgeting, and executive budget management experience.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service interaction, the ability to work independently, and the ability to multi-task with great levels of responsibility is required.
Candidates must be able to work with a wide range of constituents.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed, and travel between locations required.
Education Required or Min Education Required
Master’s degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college required
