The Position: Working closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Loss Prevention Team Member (LPTM) is responsible for providing disciplined leadership including setting clear expectations and holding your fellow Loss Prevention team members accountable for results. This position implements loss prevention and safety programs concerning shrink control, internal dishonesty, shoplifting detection, detention and public safety, as well as oversees and coordinates processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. The LPTM is accountable for managing training, detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal investigations within the assigned store. This position will train and provide mentorship around safety and own the shrink and safety results for the store, as well as the organization's cultural values. An individual in this position may, on occasion, need to respond to potentially violent and/or physical altercations and will therefore need the ability to make quick, effective decisions and maintain an appropriate level of composure. The LPTM will review safety reports, conduct inspections to maintain compliance with OSHA, company policy safety guidelines and policies (HazMat, local and regional compliance, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure associates and management adhere to all laws and policies relating to the detection and resolution of external and internal theft
  • Conduct assessments and generate reporting and actions plans for Loss Prevention and operational performance that impacts shrink control, and actively work with the Management Team to develop and implement action plans to improve performance and identify problem areas or procedural deficiencies
  • Implement or monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses
  • Investigate known or suspected internal theft, external theft, or vendor fraud
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to report or investigate crimes
  • Identify and report merchandise or stock shortages
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, or access points to determine security risks
  • Maintain documentation or reports on security-related incidents or investigations
  • Prepare written reports on investigations
  • Train personnel in loss prevention and safety activities and procedures
  • Identify and report safety concerns to maintain a safe shopping and working environment
  • Maintains current knowledge in the areas of safety, food safety (as applicable)
  • Conducts safety and food safety (as applicable) inspections on a regular basis

Qualifications:

  • Has a Gard Card or is willing to undergo fingerprinting, background checks and training to receive security certification
  • Willing to work early mornings, nights and weekends
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
  • Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)

The Compensation: This is a full-time hourly position. The hourly wage offered will be determined by experience and qualifications. We offer a 15% discount on purchases throughout the store, free bottomless coffee, a medical plan after 90 days of employment, and a 401K retirement plan after one year of employment. Paid vacation will begin to accrue after one year of employment.
