The Position: Working closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Loss Prevention Team Member (LPTM) is responsible for providing disciplined leadership including setting clear expectations and holding your fellow Loss Prevention team members accountable for results. This position implements loss prevention and safety programs concerning shrink control, internal dishonesty, shoplifting detection, detention and public safety, as well as oversees and coordinates processes to minimize loss while maintaining a safe working and shopping environment. The LPTM is accountable for managing training, detection, investigation and successful resolution of all internal investigations within the assigned store. This position will train and provide mentorship around safety and own the shrink and safety results for the store, as well as the organization's cultural values. An individual in this position may, on occasion, need to respond to potentially violent and/or physical altercations and will therefore need the ability to make quick, effective decisions and maintain an appropriate level of composure. The LPTM will review safety reports, conduct inspections to maintain compliance with OSHA, company policy safety guidelines and policies (HazMat, local and regional compliance, etc.).
The Candidate: Someone at least 18 years of age with3 years relevant work experience (i.e., security, retail or loss prevention).This individual must be excited to take initiative and be a leader in a startup business, able to thrive in a fast paced, sometimes stressful, environment and manage changing priorities, schedules and multiple tasks simultaneously. This person must be committed to our social mission and appreciate its importance to the business. We seek someone who is personable, culturally competent and able to work well with the ethnic diversity of the community. Familiarity with and knowledge of West Oakland is a strong preference.

The Compensation: This is a full-time hourly position. The hourly wage offered will be determined by experience and qualifications. We offer a 15% discount on purchases throughout the store, free bottomless coffee, a medical plan after 90 days of employment, and a 401K retirement plan after one year of employment. Paid vacation will begin to accrue after one year of employment.
