Private maritime transportation company is currently seeking highly flexible, on-call Drivers. This position will work directly with our Dispatch Team. The ideal candidate will be extremely punctual, able to adapt to very fast-paced environment and highly variable work hours. Company vehicles provided.
Responsibilities:
- Transportation of personnel and/or mail & packages to and from the local Los Angeles and Long Beach shipping ports, hotels and LAX
- Meet & Greet foreign crew at LAX (able to withstand lengthy standing times)
- Driving to LAX back and forth up to several times per day
- Assist crew with check in processes (multilingual not required)
- Maintain professional and polite demeanor when waiting for and greeting our clients
- Logging of vehicle service requirements as needed
Requirements:
- Must be 25 or older
- Posses a valid Driver License
- TWIC Card a Plus
- Clean criminal and driving record
- Live within a 10 mile radius of Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach
- Flexibility to commit to full day job runs (non fixed schedule)
- Excellent driving and communication skills (personal phone and email accessibility)
This is not an hourly position. Schedules vary every day due to the changing ship schedules in port.
