We are looking for a full-time Low Level Embedded Software Engineer at our Dog Product Center of Excellence in Tucson, Arizona.

Our outdoor product development team is looking for someone to provide very low-level, embedded C software development for next generation outdoor products, including using SPI, I2C, UART and other interfaces on bare metal 8 and 32 bit processors.

In this role you will be responsible for creating and executing designs for small sets of new functionality as part of a software project. Other essential functions include:

May perform as a technical leader or Lead Software Engineer for derivative software project
Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions
Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems
Contributes to technical research on new technologies
Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some electrical design aspects Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field (such as CIS or IT) relevant to the essential functions of this job description from a four-year college or university AND 2 years of current work experience. Other requirements include:
Demonstrates proficient knowledge and utilization of engineering tools necessary for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
Must have a minimum of 2 years of current C level programming
Must have a minimum of 1 year of current low-level embedded system experience (non-Linux)
Experience performing maintenance activities for products already in production and troubleshoot issue reports, reproduce issues, perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action, and implement and test software solutions.
Proficient knowledge and utilization of engineering tools plus proficiency and experience necessary to develop moderately complex software in C, or other selected language are a must. Mastery of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers) and proficient ability to capture and document software requirements are additional requirements.
