A Harrisburg-based, statewide, non-profit organization that promotes and supports the economic vitality of Pennsylvania’s downtowns and business districts and nearby residential areas seeks a dynamic individual to serve as its statewide Field Services Coordinator.

The qualified candidate MUST be experienced in the areas of both business district and neighborhood revitalization. Extensive knowledge and experience in both the National Main Street Center’s “Main Street Approach”© and/or the Pennsylvania Elm Street methodology are necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position. The selected individual will serve in the full-time position of Field Services Coordinator (FSC). The position shall provide oversight, coordination and delivery of all outreach, educational, technical assistance and program evaluation services, primarily in support of the Commonwealth’s Keystone Community’s Main Street and Elm Street Programs. The FSC will be primarily responsible for providing assistance to the communities that have been formally accepted into either of the Commonwealth’s Keystone Communities’ Main Street or Elm Street Program funding cycles or are seeking such designation.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for supervising one to three Field Services Specialists and distributing work to them to insure contract responsibilities are met. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with, and commitment to, the revitalization of downtowns, traditional neighborhood business districts and nearby residential areas.

A college degree and experience in downtown revitalization, urban planning, historic preservation, and/or public administration and education or training experience are required. An advanced college degree is preferred.

An engaging and interactive, face-to-face personality is required to succeed in this position. Outstanding writing and verbal communication and computer skills, particularly with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point, are essential and must be demonstrated. Willingness to accept extensive travel within Pennsylvania is a must. The ability to speak and write fluent Spanish is a plus for qualified candidates.
