PRN Registered Nurse- Infusion Therapy
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the primary role of the specialty infusion nurse is to deliver safe and professional IV therapy for patients on specialty medications for patients referred from specialties such as gastroenterology, neurology, immunology, ophthalmology and rheumatology.
Required Qualifications
- Unrestricted RN license from the State Board of Nursing
- Proficient in peripheral access and administration of IV medications
- Must have excellent patient assessment and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with sterile mixing of biologic preparations
- 3+ years in IV therapy, preferred
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Ability to travel to satellite locations, as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the form of evaluating and documenting patient clinical assessments and IV therapy as aligned with company, federal and state policies for both pediatric and adult patients.
- Prepare/compound sterile admixtures for immediate use per FDA package insert and FlexCare clinical protocol.
- Administer prescribed intravenous and subcutaneous medications such as IVIg and other specialty biologics, adhering to prescriber order and applicable FDA dosing parameters.
- Be knowledgeable of potential complications that may occur and how to manage those complications.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the healthcare process (self, systems, environment and instrumentation) in meeting clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and clinical operations.
- Assists the clinical team in the entry, review and validation of prescriber orders received by faxed referral or verbal order.
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers on clinical service-related issues.
- Obtain brief medical histories, checks vital signs, and reviews patient’s list of medications
- Educate and counsel patient and/or caregiver on care specific to their therapy
- Assures that all patient related documentation, and clinical reports are accurately completed, submitted and/or filed in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirements and in support of the billing process.
- Draw and process of lab specimens
Salary Range: $36.00-$41.00- hourly, depending on experience

Standard shift:
Weekly schedule:
8-16 Hours weekly, depending on employee's availability. Must work at least 2 Saturdays/month.
Weekly schedule as needed:
- Monday & Tuesday- 8am-4pm
- Wednesday & Thursday 11am-7pm
- Friday & Saturday 9am-3pm
- Additional Hours may be available, if interested.
Nurses are expected to be clocked in 15 minutes prior to shift.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Must be willing to travel between our office locations, as needed for coverage. Clinics are located in Norman and Oklahoma City.
Experience:
- Nursing: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- RN (Required)

Pay: $36.00 - $41.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
