CLASS SUMMARY:
Performs routine support and para-professional work involving a variety of duties related to the oversight and administration of a recreation center including recreation programs, classes, events, and activities; and does related work as required under the immediate supervisor of the center director and assistant.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Prior experience in the recreation field and customer service are preferred.

KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:

Developing recreational programs and administering programs within a community center;

Computers and related software applications including the department's recreation management software program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperatures and blood borne pathogens. May be required to work early morning, nights, weekends, and holidays.
