Taproom Manager Position
Trademark Brewing® is seeking an experienced Manager for the tap room at our our production brewery, located in Long Beach, California. Established Professionals should apply. 1 year (minimum) experience in a leadership role is is required, and preference may be given to those with more experience.
Our award-winning brewery is located at the top of Downtown Long Beach, and features a large taproom with an expansive outdoor beer garden and lots of personal interaction with our customers and fans. We’ve invested in the neighborhood and excited to grow our team.
Our Beerfolio is broken into three primary categories: everything hoppy, continental (German, UK, French, Belgian, etc), and a touch of barrel aged. This is an opportunity to create a broad array of beers and grow with us in a collaborative environment with lots of creative freedom to experiment. We have invested in high end equipment, including a mash filter equipped 17bbl brewhouse and 500bbl+ of unitanks in the cellar. We prefer to work smarter, not harder, while creating amazing beer with a focus on quality, consistency, and innovation.
Primary Responsibilities
The taproom manager supervises and manages all day-to-day taproom operations, including, but not limited to:
- Manage taproom staff including mentorship and discipline
- Create, plan, and manage tasting room events and offsite events
- Train taproom staff on all products sold
- Support and manage taproom staff’s hospitality service to ensure company values are maintained
- Use critical thinking and problem solving
- Oversee service to ensure customer satisfaction
- Responsible for Interviewing, selecting and onboarding all FOH hourly new hires
- Monitor all products served in the taproom to ensure they meet our standard
- Schedule and ensure adequate staffing for all shifts
- Ordering/purchasing all products (soft drinks, dry goods, janitorial supplies, ect.) for FOH
- Support staffing needs for FOH by providing coverage when needed
- Keep menus and prices up to date in POS
- Coordinate guest reservations for small parties, events, promotions
- Complete weekly tip worksheets for payroll
- Manage and schedule food truck vendors
- Oversee maintenance of draft system and related accessories, crowler machine, retail cooler, etc.
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
- Attend weekly TMb leadership meetings
- Uphold procedures for cash handling/banks (i.e: Prepare opening bank and perform closing bank duties)
- Check identification of guests to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Interact and handle any guest who has had too much alcohol in a positive and safe manner
- Make judgment calls and “manage the moment”
- Handle difficult situations with disruptive non-customer visitors
- Effectively communicate with guests and team members
- Be the leader of bar staff
- Make on-the-spot staffing decisions, when necessary
- Provide feedback to management on team, operations and customer feedback
- Transfer and re-stock kegs
- Maintain clean and organized bar area per standards; lift and empty bus tubs, clean glassware, pre and post hours cleaning, mopping, removal of bar floor mats
- Perform opening, ongoing, and closing duties according to TMb Procedures
- Responsible key holder and security alarm code access
- Report and record any equipment failures and/or safety hazards
- Keep a can-do attitude and a desire to learn
- Have a good sense of urgency
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Work in a fast-paced environment and can stay calm under pressure
- Other tasks as needed/assigned
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent TMb at festival and events, and promoting our brand
- Provide Tours of TMb

Physical Requirements
- Lift, move, pull, or carry 55lbs and move (160lb+) heavy objects, using appropriate techniques and tools
- Stand for 8-12 hours/day
- Ability to twist, turn, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, climb as required
- Work in hot or cold, inside or outside environment for extended periods
