Job Title: Entry Level Controls Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Job Summary:

The Entry Level Controls Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting issues, managing small projects, and providing guidance and training related to controls systems.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Support to Improve Supervision Systems as Wonderware System Platform (Historian, Intouch, Dream Report)
  • Perform Electrotechnics Improvement Projects (Electric schema, functional analysis, installation, doc update).
  • Technical troubleshooting for Controls, Electrical and Instrumentation
  • Programming (and consultation) for continuous improvement projects
  • Management of small technical projects
  • Attend daily technical services meeting
  • Support maintenance as needed
  • Programming PLC’s and HMI’s for carryout of improvement projects
  • Complete formal root cause analysis and recommend/complete necessary corrective actions
  • Training for plant technicians
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering

EXPERIENCE

  • 1 year working in industrial manufacturing preferably working within or alongside maintenance

SKILLS

  • Must have:
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to program PLC’s:
  • Allen Bradley
  • Siemens S7 PLC/HMI * Servo/Frequency Drive Troubleshooting and Programming
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting
  • Understanding of machine networking
  • Understanding of electrical drawings
  • Perform and communicate root cause analysis * Nice to have:
  • Ability to create databases
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with:
  • Drives (Danfoss, Siemens, Yaskawa, Omron, Allen Bradley)
  • Industrial Network management (OPC, I/O server)
  • Proface HMI
  • Intouch Wonderware
  • Yaskawa Motion Controller PLC
  • Omron PLC

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to access all areas of the manufacturing facility including use of stairs, ladders, and the occasional powered lift.
  • Able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day in normal office conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year
