Job Description
Looking for a driven intern to work on fast paced and high visibility solvers for the decision engineering team. Candidate must work well with teams of data scientists to understand, complement and implement algorithms to solve business problems. The ideal candidate must be able to easily ingest pseudo code or comprehend heuristics and be able to implement them at their discretion to solve various problems.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code in Python with a test driven development mind-set and Strong unit test and debugging skills.

Demonstrable ability to discover and fix errors in legacy code.

Familiar with version control such as Git and/or TFS.

Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ. Strong background in building models solvable by optimization libraries like CPLEX with a broad understanding of mathematical programming techniques including optimization heuristics and meta-heuristics like genetic algorithms.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc. and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc. and experience with applications. Experience working with and creating data frames.

Strong problem solving skills.

A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
