ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Hardware Lab Administrator, you are responsible for managing lab
coverage and enforcing lab standards, processes and overall QA for one
of our customer sites in San Diego, CA.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforce lab standards; set and execute QA processes; plan/organize
necessary test passes; help triage bugs and drive issues to
resolutions; keep key stakeholders informed of QA status
  • Manage lab coverage of HW (on both Android and iOS)
  • Execute manual and write automated tests, and identify actionable
bugs quickly
  • Work with different teams (Engineering/PM/Operation) to collect
necessary information to assure the QA coverage, and also provide
feedback on quality issues
  • Work with onsite and satellite team to set their priorities and
remove their roadblocks to make sure sufficient coverage is provided
  • Create and support test dashboards/reports
  • Grow QA team timely and effectively in support of the company’s
project roadmap
  • Source, negotiate, evaluate, and manage third-party QA companies
(if applicable)
  • Monitor, maintain, upgrade and improve the administration of lab
test hosts
  • Document tasks and processes. Set up new machines. Handle all
front line troubleshooting
  • Work with team to improve processes (upgrades/changes).
Introduce Standalone Puppet.
  • Test hardware and related applications to compared to
specifications and documentation
  • Perform tests and provide timely test results to test engineers
and test leads
  • Identifiy, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions,
errors, and inconsistencies in embedded software program functions,
outputs, online screens, and content.
  • Install, maintain, and use testing embedded software programs
  • Work with the developers and test engineers to influence test
cases when needed
  • Perform other duties as requested by primary test lead/admin, test
engineers
  • Review computer logs and reports to identify program processing
errors and possible improvements
  • Conduct compatibility tests with other software programs,
hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments
  • Document, track, and communicate test results, analysis, and
unresolved problems
  • Work from verbal instructions and email
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Expertise in focus area (Linux, Monitoring/Automation/Puppet)
  • Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python
and Javascript
  • Must be able to work with environments that have dynamic
priorities, unstructured and/or undocumented Basic troubleshooting
experience and knowledge on wearable, mobile devices, tablets.
  • Hands on experience and knowledge on Android and Linux with a
minimum of 6 Months professional experience
  • Comfortable with working in a room full of devices with other 2-3
people most of the time
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Some inventory and customer service experience would be useful
  • Ability to work with minimal day to day supervision, self
manager/motivator
