The Department of Transportation is seeking an Administrative Specialist III to provide skilled administrative and customer service support for the Division of Parking Management.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is committed to delivering a first-rate multimodal transportation system. Under MCDOT, the Division of Parking Management (DPM) serves as an important tool, not only for achieving public objectives for economic development, mobility and transportation management, but for supporting the roles of public parking in the central business districts and residential neighborhoods to promote their economic growth and stability.

The DPM is currently seeking a skilled Administrative Specialist III to join our team. As a customer-service oriented and skilled position, this opening is ideal for an organized, data-driven, technology savvy and purpose-driven team player who strives to be a part of a dynamic, invested and ambitious team.

The work of this position requires high-level attention to detail, as well as critical thinking, analytical, and logical skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, computer and data analysis capabilities and will help the Division review existing business processes and provide recommendations to identify performance driven improvements.

Additionally, the position requires excellent written and oral communication skills, which will be utilized in interactions with both internal and external customers to support parking services provided by the Division of Parking Management. The position plays a key role in helping the Division of Parking Management achieve their goals (i.e., public customer service, support public parking, promote and complement the transportation system, maximize parking programs to enhance economic development).

Major Duties will include:
providing complex, professional customer service work
acting as point of contact for internal and external customers, responding to requests via email, written letters, in-person and by phone
assisting in budget planning operations
conducting studies and preparing reports for data analysis of parking programs
preparing and reviewing contracts and/or proposals for procurement actions for parking program services
representing the Division at meetings and community events
Position may include supervision of administrative staff. Occasionally, there may be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours to attend community events, County and business meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional, administrative experience related to budget preparation, contract management, customer service management, parking management, work project control, and/or research and data analysis.

1. EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

2. EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional relevant administrative, business, research and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for year basis.

Preferred Criteria
