JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for managing department supervisors in the planning and completion of all maintenance tasks, analyzing daily operations, and supporting the other members of the management team. manages the daily scheduling and workload for the staff, monitors repair and maintenance processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and tracks costs and expenses against the budget. This position also identifies training and development opportunities for department personnel.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Manage department supervisors in the planning and completion of all maintenance tasks for the company.

Manage daily staffing and workload to meet department performance goals.

Assist senior manager in hiring needed personnel.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Conduct quality inspections to ensure proper repairs are made and units are

road worthy.

Promote proper and intelligent diagnostic practices to minimize the cost of repairs and equipment down time.

Analyze major repairs, such as engine rebuilds or replacement, repair cost, and methods of preventing future violations.

Review cost statements to locate excessive expenses and to provide a more cost-efficient organization.

Identify strengths and weaknesses in personnel, equipment, materials and property.

Conduct investigations and administer disciplinary action related to personnel matters, such as continued tardiness, excessive absenteeism, or safety violations as appropriate.

Hold personnel accountable for completing work within the established time and quality expectations.

Maintain the integrity of company asset and personnel and maintenance information data in Dossier or other appropriate formats.

Maintain awareness of all department activities.

Adhere to and enforce company rules policies and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent
-
5 years' experience in maintenance management dealing with industrial heavy equipment fleets comprised of trucks, trailers, industrial equipment, composting equipment, material handlers, conveyors, compactors, excavation equipment, forklifts welding equipment, pickups, trash trucks, support equipment; graduate of a technical school and 10-12 years' experience

Strong mechanical background preferably in heavy equipment

Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite - i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook; and Power Point

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

Valid Texas Class C driver's license
