Job Description:
The Clinical Unit Manager is responsible for organizing and directing the work of their nursing staff. They also coordinate nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is provided and that quality standards are met. Collaborate with Site Manager with operational needs to ensure smooth office flow and success.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to nursing staff
- Ensure that staff is properly trained
- Collaborate with management to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services
- Responsible for scheduling adequate staff
- Assess staffing needs of unit and works collaboratively with the site manager in the hiring process
- Manage Nursing Staff
o Supervises RNs and Medical Assistants
o Promote productive and supportive work environment
o Assists Medical Assistants/RNs when necessary
o Assist with Nursing staff hiring process and training
o Monthly meetings
o Performance reviews
- Clinical Patient Care
o Overseeing lab draws, order sets, genetics
o Advise for abnormal vital signs, patient non-compliance, clinical errors
o Overseeing compliance for PVP alerts for HEDIS, UDS
o Triaging and scheduling walk-in patients with urgent needs
o Review labs documents/results with PA, Nurse
o Reconcile outstanding labs/image reports
o GYN Clinical follow up for patients with gestational diabetes, IUGR, thyroid issues, gestation HTN, short cervix,
o OB Clinical follow up for patients with HCG levels for various abnormal pregnancy issues (bleeding, ectopic, molar pregnancy, missed abortions)
o Follow up for abnormal PAP results, return for COLPO
o Birth Control Counseling
o Answering phone messages (medications, symptoms, bleeding in pregnancy, staining, patient concerns, proper medical follow up, lab and imaging results)
- Sonogram Visits and MFM Consults
o Schedule sonogram visits
o Schedule MFM consults (includes referral in ECW)
o MFM consult follow up, communicate with MFM
o Establish sonogram guidelines/train scheduler
o Review and discuss MFM findings/recommendations with OB patients and MFM
o RTO forms
o Patient referrals for sonograms, fetal echos (together with nurse and treatment coordinator)
- Other
o Incident Reports
o Reviewing office schedule for patient visit types with appropriate provider
o Establish call center guidelines with site manager
o Assist with referring and scheduling patients for D&C procedures together with treatment coordinator
o Refer patients to specialists (Endocrinologist, Hematologist)
o Requesting/Sending/Reviewing Medical Records with Medical Records Coordinator
o Reviewing incoming medical records for OB Transfer
o Follow up with patients after hospital admission/discharge (not related to OB delivery)
- Additional Communication with:
o Lab Reps (BioReference, Quest, Natera)
o Radiology (WMI)
o Pharmacies for refill requests and order clarification
o MFM offices to refer patients with congenital anomalies or high-risk issues (NYU TISCH, MFMA, Columbia, Mt. Sinai Fetal Heart Program, NYU Brooklyn)
o Site Manager collaboration for: provider/MA ratio, ordering supplies, ordering injections, provider meetings
o Providers for any questions at any time
o Rabbis and MDs as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
