Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under direction, serves as a Business Consultant for the Business Enterprise Program for the Blind. Provides business consulting for food, vending, cafeteria and retail facility operations. Provides quality assurance link between the facility manager, the building contact and program staff. Makes on-site assurance inspections of facility operations. Prepares reports to improve effectiveness. Travels in performance of job duties.
Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business, public administration, marketing, hospitality or the food service industry. Requires one year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization or completion of an agency approved professional management training program. Requires the ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Of the one year experience, requires one year experience in food service management, financial management, sales or related areas. Requires extensive knowledge of regulations and standard practices of the food service industry. Requires working knowledge of business management, general finance and budgeting practices. Requires the
ability conduct on-site visits and complete corresponding observation reports. Requires possession of a Food Service Sanitation Standards License prior to start date.
