We are seeking a candidate toperform a variety of Human Resource tasks in support of the Human Resources Office for the Baltimore County Department of Social Services, which serves 1,485 State and County employees.

The position prepares, ensures accuracy, submits and monitors paperwork for State and County positions and employee actions, such as new appointments, transfers, reclassifications, disciplinary actions, PIN changes, promotions and terminations utilizing the State Personnel System Workday and JobAps; requests/reviews certification lists, drafts and sends interest letters, and schedules candidates for interviews via JobAps; reviews applications for minimum, preferred and selective qualifications; verifies candidate(s) minimum qualifications; coordinates the State Performance Evaluation Program (PEP); coordinates the Probation Evaluation process for new employees; conducts new State employee orientation; serves as an Agency Benefit Coordinator for State Health Benefits and Retirement and monitors Leave Bank enrollment, donations and other related inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of general clerical or administrative support experience at least one year of which must have been paraprofessional personnel experience involving the application of public sector procedures, policies, rules and regulations to specific employment actions. Appropriate paraprofessional personnel experience should have included responsibility for activities such as, preparing and maintaining employment records, calculating salaries, applying and interpreting rules and policies, preparing personnel-related reports, counseling employees regarding benefits and obligations, and responding to inquiries concerning employment actions.

Notes: 1. One additional year of paraprofessional personnel experience as defined above may be substituted for one year of general clerical or administrative support experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in human resources assistance classification or human resources assistance specialty codes in the human resources management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

Desired Qualifications:

Six months experience in the State of Maryland Personnel System.

Six months experience conducting new employee orientation.

Six months experience presenting information to groups.
