We're looking for a Field Operations Manager (FOM) who thrives in fast-paced, constantly changing work environments. We need someone who thinks like an entrepreneur and gets excited about finding solutions to improve the overall business and market. Effective communication and people, process and location management skills are crucial for success in this role.

The Field Operations Manager will be based out of our Seattle office and will oversee the local drivers, route management, fleet, and all physical location operations. He/She will build and maintain relationships with local and HQ-based key contacts, as well as support local driver hiring and marketing efforts while working closely with other market FOMs, corporate HR, marketing, sales, account management and many others across the organization.

The mission of this role is to make sure the local business and client operations are running as smoothly and efficiently as possible while ensuring the team of drivers provides a high level of customer service to our valued riders/customers. This role will also bring crucial insights back to the HQ team from the market and field which could influence company decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Hiring, developing and managing a local team of Charioteers (drivers) (supported by corporate / centralized functions)
  • Scheduling Charioteers and overseeing time & attendance, ensuring all local drivers are paid appropriately
  • Ensuring optimal staffing, managing and optimizing routes
  • Driver KPIs through performance management
  • Fleet management and maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with local and corporate and DOT requirements,safety protocol training and reporting
  • Manage maintenance schedule and handle incidents of fleet vehicles in a timely manner
  • Develop and coach staff on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), encourage employee engagement, lead situational and competency awareness, and drive performance improvement
  • Continuous local communications and engagement with the team
  • Set up and maintain routes to ensure they are in compliance with local regulations
  • Driver discipline and development of performance improvement plans, with support from central HR as needed
  • Go on Chariot ride-a-longs, complete route audits, and build new routes as needed
  • SLA compliance across your assigned routes (if applicable)
  • Driver Performance reviews 30, 60, 90 days & quarterly check-ins
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Automotive Technology and 5+ years of direct work experience in a large fleet lot or facility including 2+ years of people management and supervision. (4 years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.)
  • 3 or more years of experience managing a team of more than 3, larger teams preferred
  • Previous experience in transportation, mass transit or mobility strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to manage many competing priorities
  • Analytical abilities to forecast supply and demand, consider financial impacts and other quantitative tasks
  • Strong ability to complete tasks through delegation
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Prior experience working with a unionized workforce a plus
  • Possession of a valid driver's license for the State of Washington with the ability to be covered for insurance on Chariot's auto insurance policy
