DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs complex administrative functions including organizing and maintaining record keeping systems. Performs a wide variety of highly responsible tasks involving analytical assistance and research for the development and implementation of management improvement programs to increase efficiency of administrative processes. Develops standard operating procedures resulting from changes and initiatives. Responsible for a variety of administrative and project support activities required to develop, prepare and implement Vendor evaluation processes. Supports activities for contract solicitations and correspondence related to the required specifications and documents for Construction Contracts. Meeting deadlines and meetings with Project Managers and team members to support contract activities. Maintains and updates various reports, records and files. Reviews and evaluates changes to improve processes and systems. This position requires good organizational communication and critical thinking skills.
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
This is a Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One (1) year of administrative experience is required.
Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Preferences will be given to candidates with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Application
