Postdoctoral Research Associate Position:
The Molecular Imaging Innovations Institute (MI3) is recruiting a highly motivated and driven Postdoctoral researcher to join Dr. Vanessa Bellat’s laboratory at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.
The Bellat lab focuses on the design of precision nanocarriers displaying organ-specific targeting and retention properties to improve the safety and efficacy of chemotherapeutic treatments. This position will provide a unique opportunity to train in a stimulating and multidisciplinary environment employing state-of-art preclinical/clinical imaging techniques to develop smart nanomedicine for cancer imaging and treatments. More specifically, the candidate will be in charge of developing a new drug delivery platform for the treatment of lung metastases. Part of the project will consist in investigating the nanocarrier in vivo tissue distribution using different imaging techniques and identifying the most responsive drug release strategy to enhance the antitumor effect. The applicant will also perform in-depth toxicity studies to ensure the safety of the approach and use multi-omics techniques to explore the molecular and immunogenic pathways triggered by the treatment.
Job duties:
· Workswith the PI on developing hypotheses and designing experiments.
· Conducts laboratory experiments including in vitro cell culture and animal studies.
· Collaborates with lab members and bioinformatician in experiments and data analysis.
· Participates in data processing, analysis, reporting, and conference presentations.

Qualifications:
The applicant must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as nanotechnology, cancer biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or any applicable related field, and have demonstrated a strong publication track record. Candidates with experience in immunotherapy, radiotherapy, pathology, and preclinical cancer models are also encouraged to apply.

Salary Range (annually): $64,272– $74,984 based on experience.
