Summary:The primary goal of this position is to direct financial activities of the organization by administering and monitoring the financial system in order to ensure that the finances are maintained and accurate in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Establishes/recommends major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.
Implements financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate reporting of operational transactions into the company accounting system.
Coordinates the monthly financial closing and prepares monthly financial reports inclusive of income statement and balance sheets through performance of the general ledger review and month end journal entries.
Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Assists in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
Establishes and maintains cash controls inclusive of security of all company credit cards, related charges and petty cash transactions.
Financial responsibilities include monitoring cash flow and investments, reviewing check runs for payment of vendors, prepare company sales tax returns, journal entries, and generation of commission statements, 401(k) review ,banking; prepare and reconcile bank statements, prepares borrowing base documentation, account transfers.
Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions, and advises management on year end reserves, company write offs for bad debt or slow moving inventory.
Coordinates activities related to Review or Audit of company's financials by outside agents.
Prepares and submits reports required by regulatory agencies.
Supervisors and leads Accounting team.

Education and Experience:
Four-year degree in Accounting with 2-4 years related experience in a Controller position is preferred.
