Position Title: Executive Director

Reports To: Board of Directors

Overview of the Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Centers, Inc (CCCAC): Our mission is to serve and advocate for child victims of abuse through education, prevention, intervention, and recovery. The CCCAC provides comprehensive services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team made up of law enforcement, child protective services, and prosecution.

Position Description: The CCCAC is looking for a proactive visionary leader with experience working in this field, who can meet the demands of a growing organization and take it to the next level. The Executive Director is responsible for the administration and daily operations of the CCCAC. The Executive Director implements polices adopted by the Board and administers the agency in accordance with stated purposes and goals, working toward achieving optimum results in relation to the available resources.

Essential Functions:

  • Administration:
  • Overall management of the CCCAC Programs, facilities, and maintenance
  • Recommends policies to the Board for effective operations
  • Functions as records control officer, maintaining all documents necessary to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides verbal and written reports as required by the Board, funding sources, and other entities


  • Financial Management:
  • Works with Board to create an annual fund development plan, identifying financial needs and potential resources.
  • Develops annual budget (in conjunction with Board), monitors the organization’s financial position to ensure solvency and full utilization of funds, and prepares and presents regular budget updates.
  • Directs financial operations, ensuring that the agency’s financial management policies are followed, and that sufficient internal control is maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with grantor/donor contractual agreements
  • Monitors cash flow and investments of CCCAC funds
  • Maintains search for additional funding for services including, but not limited to, federal, state, township, municipalities, and foundation grants.


  • Personnel:
  • Provides overall direction and control of personnel function.
  • Responsible for hiring, supervising, evaluating, and terminating staff.
  • Provides training and professional development opportunities for staff
  • Provides annual performance evaluations for all staff.
  • Ensures that the CCCAC’s personnel policies are followed, any staff concerns are addressed, and agency is in compliance with applicable employment laws.
  • Cultivates a positive, healthy, effective, and productive work environment
  • Assists in recruiting and cultivating volunteers.


  • Program Development:
  • Develops and recommends plans for the organization’s services based on funding potential and community needs for Board approval.
  • Implements accepted program plans and ensures compliance with appropriate program guidelines, protocols, rules, regulations, standards, statutes, etc.
  • Monitors and evaluates services; recommends needed changes to the Board
  • Oversees the development, enforcement, & modification of operating procedures
  • Supervises client relationships and maintenance of client records
  • Conducts research, identifies, and develops grant proposals for program funding
  • Gathers data/statistics and prepares reports required by various funding sources
  • Cultivates collaborative relationships with all partner agencies and maintains effective communication with partners regarding crime victim services.
  • Fundraising: Identifies funding opportunities consistent with the CCCAC’s mission and goals.
  • Cultivates new donor relationships and manages existing ones.
  • Assists the Board of Directors with planning and implementation of fundraising efforts.


  • Board Relations:
  • Schedules regular Board meetings, prepares agenda with input from the Board President, and provides pertinent data/material, as deemed appropriate.
  • Reports regularly to Board members regarding organizational, financial, and programmatic issues and keeps Board fully and accurately informed.
  • Helps coordinate training opportunities for the Board.
  • Cultivates and nurtures relationships with current and potential Board members.
  • Assists current Board members in recruitment of new Board members.
  • Provides assistance to the CCCAC Board and Committees as requested


  • Community/Public Relations:
  • Represents the organization to the public.
  • Seeks opportunities to increase public awareness regarding child abuse and neglect and participate in prevention activities.
  • Engages in public activities that provide opportunities to communicate with the public regarding the existence of the CCCAC, the problems the program addresses, and the needs of the program and its clients in efforts to get individuals, groups, & businesses to support and become engaged in our mission.
  • Establishes, cultivates and nurtures relationships with community leaders, social service organizations, civic clubs, businesses, school and hospital personnel, churches, county and city government agencies, etc to expand our reach.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership/management position within a nonprofit organization, social work, or criminal justice
  • Experience working within related field is preferred

Physical Requirements & Other Information:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of office materials
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel if need be for educational or business purposes
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
  • Employment dependent upon the successful completion of a background check, including criminal and CPS clearances
