The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a skilled Safety Analyst with strong technical skills in collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting safety data. This position provides administrative and technical advice to supervisors and employees to ensure safety programs are compliant with state and federal regulations, and EWEB's safety procedures and processes are successfully implemented. This position works with the Safety Program Manager to advance EWEB's safety culture.

The Safety Analyst will:
Facilitate and provide guidance in the development, administration, and implementation of EWEB safety programs;
Develop analytical methods and reporting capabilities that support objectives and strategies of EWEB safety initiatives.
Create and analyze safety data and prepare management performance reports.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state safety laws and regulations, and company safety procedures and processes;
Coordinate safety activities with other sections and departments; and serve as back-up to Safety Program Manager during both emergency and non-emergency situations.
Analyze complex safety program data to determine trends; draw conclusions, provide essential safety information to the organization, and maintain a clear understanding of analytics, reporting and technology to develop and recommend solutions to further enhance the safety culture of EWEB.
Support Workers' Compensation program. Helps with processing claims; claims monitoring, administration and investigation; maintains contact with injured workers and evaluates the status of Workers' Compensation cases to determine return to work status and provide updates to supervisors and managers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with developing and implementing programs, data extraction and collection using complex queries and advanced database tools to provide meaningful reports, and possess advanced Excel skills such as logical, data and text functions, and the use of pivot tables. They will take initiative, be resourceful, detail-oriented, a self-starter, team-focused, and have strong interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in safety program support and/or administration in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment. Experience must include complex safety program data analysis.

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in safety and health, industrial hygiene, Business Administration or related field.

Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: CUSP, CIH, ASP, or CSP Certification preferred. Experience with Worker's Compensation program administration desirable.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
