This position will act as a business partner for managers and associates within the organization by providing HR counsel, coaching, feedback and problem-resolution support in dealing with performance management, associate development, talent planning, employee relations, and full cycle recruitment. This position will also be a part of strategic planning and execution with regard to the company's HR strategy, policies and programs to support the goals of the business and keep the organization in compliance with all human resource legal and regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish relationships and partner with management and associates so that associates utilize HR for their needs and that management relies on the function to support Viking business objectives and in order to help them achieve their goals.
Execute internal and external recruitment strategy and efficiently and effectively fill open positions. Partner with HR team members regarding onboarding of new associates.
Assist in the development and administration of work force planning, including staff planning, staffing expense management, talent assessment, associate development plans and training programs.
Maintain an understanding of the strategic growth plan for the locations supported and help manage the strategic plan for meeting the talent needs of the market and provide HR metrics as needed.
Maintain an understanding of the financial expectations and performance of the company and the markets supported.
Communicate on a regular basis with location managers to ensure that there is consistency with regard to Human Resource functions and policy administration.
Create, modify and implement company policies as necessary to meet regulatory compliance and business needs.
Administer company benefits, compensation strategy, reward & recognition and payroll processes.
Partner with other HR team members to work collaboratively to make sure as a team we are meeting the needs of our internal customers and addressing all aspects of the associates life cycle.

Required Skills

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required in Human Resources related area.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Demonstrates strong HR expertise, ability to manage processes, employee relations, and staffing functions within a multi-site, multi-state company.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Ability to read and analyze complex information related to areas such as state and federal employment regulations, and financial reporting.
Strong PC skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Ability to handle confidential information and engages in an ethical manner.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and critical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
Ability to engage and explain information to a wide range of audiences.
Ability to develop strong relationships and provide positive and constructive reinforcement and feedback.
Ability to be a leader and help others navigate our culture and business by being a consultant.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid driver’s license
Willingness to work additional hours to meet deadlines.

Required Experience
At least 5 years progressive Human Resources experience.
Experience with HR and Payroll programs (timekeeping and reporting) or with another payroll system.
Experience with a Performance Management System preferred.
Experience with a Learning Management System preferred.
