DESCRIPTION

As the VP, Auditing Operations, your role will be the management of our inpatient auditing services. The VP, Auditing Operations will work closely with the leadership of our DRG-Validation team to assure the quality and effectiveness of the auditing software and services being provided to our clients. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Auditing Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the daily operations of the inpatient coding and documentation auditing team (40 FTE’s and growing)
Develop a comprehensive staffing model to support this growth area for Revint; to include organization partnership and contract resources where required
Perform Lead Auditor duties for assigned clients - when necessary - which includes activities such as auditing, implementation trainings, quarterly business reviews, and other client-facing activities
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training manuals, quality monitoring system, and best practices for the auditing team
Provide liaison for auditing function to other Revint teams to ensure the most effective approach for serving our clients; team interactions include: Client Experience, Technology and Sales teams
Provide a positive attitude with the ability to develop and motivate team members spanning individual contributor and management roles

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of proven experience in a healthcare-related management role
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Current AHIMA credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS required with additional Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) credentials such as CDIP and/or CCDS

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement, with a minimum of five years of recent acute inpatient coding and/or auditing experience
Previous experience training and mentoring coders and/or auditors is highly desired
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with multiple EMR Systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech
