Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Specialist in Germantown, MD to develop policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure program office is in compliance with all Federal and Agency level laws, directives and guidance. Provide advice and guidance on implementation of developed policies, procedures and strategies to management and other technical specialists. Create system documentation as it relates to the security of system. Conduct technical risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information system to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs and conducts systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews. Conduct assessment of information system in accordance with FISMA. Position requires consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Responsibilities include:
Maintain knowledge base of all current and applicable Federal and Agency level laws, directives, orders and guidance.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of organizational procedures and guidance on cybersecurity and information assurance matters as they relate to information systems.
Assists in the interpretation and development of security operating procedures to protect networks, and other sensitive information.
Publish and distribute notifications which address major information security threats, i.e. hacking, malicious activity, damaging vulnerabilities with exploits in the wild, Trojans, Worms, and Viruses.
Conducts research pertaining to the latest technological and ideological advances in information assurance and cybersecurity.
Assists in development of cybersecurity strategies, architectures and implementation plans.
Provides knowledgeable input on all aspects of Information Assurance/Information Security management and policies implementation.
Assists in performing assessment and analysis for Risk Assessments, Contingency/COOP planning, and System Security Plans.
Identifies and evaluates business needs for security gaps.
Maintains detailed incident logs in analysis database.
Performs Operational Security Reviews.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
1-3 years of relevant progressively responsible IT and cybersecurity experience
Ability to effectively communicate with other team members to convey highly detailed technical information.
Must have excellent writing and speaking skills.
Comfortable creating and presenting presentations to co-workers and clients.
Familiarity with FISMA and Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) processes
Ability to work with cutting edge technology
Familiarity with intrusion detection systems and network security environment
Knowledge of information technologies to include computer hardware and software, operating systems, and networking protocols
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Be eligible to obtain Federal Security Clearance at Secret or higher level
