Through a framework that addresses policy, process, operations, people, and technology, the Information Security team protects Wells Fargo’s infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets, and ensures alignment with applicable regulations and laws.
The Enterprise Application Security Program enhances the ability of development organizations to consistently deliver highly functional applications that are secure and resilient against attack by developing policies, processes, training, and tools to proactively embed security into Wells Fargo-developed applications. The person in this role is a key member of the Secure Software Group who will drive organizational alignment on key application security risks and provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the application security training program. Primary job responsibilities include:
Leadership of Wells Fargo’s Application Security Training practice, ensuring that the right content is available in the right format at the right time to promote secure software development
Ensuring the effective execution of the Application Security Training program through collaboration with Human Resources, Learning & Development, and Secure Software Development Program Governance partners
Research into emerging application security risks for incorporation into Wells Fargo’s application security testing program
Analysis of security vulnerabilities identified by Wells Fargo’s application security testing programs to identify trends requiring additional program focus
Obtaining agreement and codifying risk severity in a documented bug bar
Driving bug bar requirements into application security testing tools and practices
Promoting alignment with other Wells Fargo Application Security testing programs
Providing advanced application security training to the development organization
May direct or serve as a mentor to less experienced staff and to members of the development organization.
7+ years of information security applications and systems experience
Advanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policies
Ability to manage complex issues and develop solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Application security training experience
Experience mentoring application development teams in secure development practices
Static Analysis Software Testing (SAST) experience
Understanding of information security practices and policies as implemented in a large enterprise environment
3+ years of computer application development experience
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
