Community Integrated Work Program (CIWP) is seeking a Psychologist Consultant to join our multi-disciplinary team in working with clients with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health disorders.

CIWP is dedicated to providing intensive crisis prevention, intervention, and follow-up services to individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. CIWP works specifically to decrease police involvement and unnecessary hospitalizations, and to increase the success of caregiver’s ability to handle future crises.

CIWP is seeking a Psychologist Consultant in the Whittier area who will provide consultation on client treatment plans, assessments, and counselor interventions. Once per month interdisciplinary meetings may be held at the Whittier office location; meeting time to be established. The Psychologist Consultant may be contacted additionally for consultation, as needed.

Consultant Requirements:

  • Current California licensure as a certified psychologist.
  • At least four years of experience in the field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic planning, critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Qualified to provide high quality clinical supervision.
  • Knowledge of a range of community resources related to mental health and supportive services.
  • Ability to treat individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds with respect and exceptional support.
  • Provide consultation in regard to consumer mental health.
  • Review all anecdotal reports and make recommendations.
  • Advise the team on crisis plans and follow-up.
  • Weekly supervision to counselors may be provided to CIWP counselors as needed. Supervision may take place in person or electronically.
  • Collaborate and consult with other clinical areas.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, as needed.
