Position Summary
The City of Lewisville Parks & Recreation Department is searching for the Manager of Thrive - an 87,000 square foot multi-generational facility currently under construction. The center will include an indoor aquatic park, gymnasium, community room, fitness center and walking track, outdoor porch, indoor playground and various play spaces for the residents of Lewisville. It will be a central component of Lewisville's commitment to Extend the Green with a strong connection to nature and the ecosystem and featuring a stunning public art piece depicting the community's location on the Central Flyway. In addition to Thrive, the manager will also be responsible for oversight of the City's two seasonal outdoor aquatic facilities.

The City is looking for a passionate parks and recreation professional who can provide dynamic leadership for Thrive, the outdoor aquatic facilities and respective team members, with an emphasis on customer service, innovative programming and sound business operations (including revenue production). The manager will be a direct report to the Director of Parks & Recreation Department and provide critical support to the mission of the department and city.

In accordance with City management policies is responsible for professional, safe and efficient management of events, programs and activities at the Thrive Center.

Starting Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually, plus $350 a month car allowance and $50 cell phone allowance
Essential Functions
Operates the Thrive Center including recreation center, gym, fitness center, aquatic facility, community center and oversees special events.
Prepares, executes and monitors facility budget.
Directs recreation supervisors to ensure work and planning schedules are in compliance with facility business plan, departmental goals and objectives.
Manages contracts and agreements and oversees purchasing efforts for the facility.
Coordinates facility marketing efforts.
Creates an atmosphere of excellence.
Responsible for maintaining facility membership levels.
Coordinates and supervises hiring needs for the Thrive Center.
Supervises and evaluates work of direct reports.
Develops policies and procedures and training programs for the Thrive Center.
Attends meetings within the City operation and with outside agencies and partners.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Parks & Recreation, Education, Sports Management or a related field.
Five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a related field including at least three years of supervisory experience.
Certified Park and Recreation Professional preferred.

Operational and project management practices for parks and recreation programs and facilities
Recreation, Fitness and Sports Management principles and practices.
Parks and recreation services and the vital role they play in a community.
Municipal budget preparation and administration principles and practices.
Principles of leadership, supervision, training and performance evaluations.
Methods, materials, techniques, equipment and technology used in parks and recreation programming.
Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, ordinances and statutes.

Special Requirements
Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Must possess a valid State of Texas Drivers License Class "C" and good driving record as defined by City policy.
