This position is in the Chase Merchant Services Technology team, responsible for conducting technical business analysis and converting requirements from Product Managers into user stories refined with the Scrum team. The Business System Analyst will work closely with Subject Matter Experts from the businesses, IT project managers, applications developers and software testers to deliver high-quality application software solutions to the Merchant Services businesses.
Assist and guide business partners in developing Epics and User Stories
Work with Scrum team(s) to refine user stories so they are Sprint Ready.
Work with testing resource(s) to incorporate acceptance criteria in stories, assist with manual and automated test script development, and help with test execution in support of the scrum team's delivery plan.
Work closely with the application development teams and lead design discussions
Additional functions include the identification and assessment of proposed changes, advising the business on options, risks, and costs
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
5+ years’ experience as a business analyst within an Agile technology organization
5+ years’ experience in BA techniques such as user stories, process models, data flow diagrams, or other diagramming tools and models
3+ years’ experience/understanding use case modeling; skillful with scenario-based analysis and use case-driven design techniques
5+ years’ experience in business systems analysis functions or equivalent of programming and business analysis
JIRA experience is required
Experience using Agile methodology and writing user stories required
Strong analytical skills and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications
Proven ability to work closely with the business and translate business needs into functional specifications
Strong experience in software testing functions
Knowledge of Payments is a plus
Highly motivated and self-directed
Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work efforts
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player; leading the group to develop alternative solutions to complex problems
