This position is located at various CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS, FAMILY CARE PROGRAMS BRANCH, MARINE AND FAMILY PROGRAMS DIVISION. Candidates selected for this position will serve as an OFFICE AUTOMATION CLERK for MCCS.

Responsibilities
Operates a personal computer (PC) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of civilian and military correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, reports and graphs, using a wide variety of software programs. Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using PC network or links to other computers. Proofreads all prepared correspondence and checks for completeness and conformance to applicable instructions and regulations. Operates PC using graphics applications to produce various graphic materials as required.

Maintains records and files, types a variety of material, assists in developing statistical data for report purposes, prepare daily, monthly and other reports, requisitions office supplies, assists in payroll record keeping and completion of time cards for office personnel. Reports all monies collected on a daily basis. Compiles monthly standard and recurring activity reports from budget, fiscal and attendance records. Maintains a daily disbursement journal and meal participation record in accordance with USDA Food Program requirements. Receives patrons, makes telephone calls and responds to patron inquires concerning service offered, current fee schedules and scheduling of appointments.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
Minimum one year of experience in the operation of a personal computer, related office equipment and knowledge of general clerical procedures. Knowledge of a variety of integrated software programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in order to effectively represent the organization in explanation of services offered. Pass health screenings annually to show good physical and mental health, freedom from communicable disease, up-to-date immunizations, test for Tuberculosis, and any other tests deemed necessary and appropriate by local medical authorities per MCO 1710.30E. Successfully complete: Installation record checks (IRC), State criminal history repository checks (SCHR), initiation and completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), and a Defense Clearance Investigations Index (DCII) for re-verification for employees who provide child care services. Ability to satisfactorily complete all required training and demonstrate competencies according to established timeframes to retain employment status. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
