The Retail Media Financial Planning Manager will support billing & finance functions for a growing digital business unit at The Home Depot. This individual will manage a team of finance specialists who will support the unique needs of our vendor partners. This role will support both direct billing, invoice reconciliation, and collections processes as well as financial reporting, process mapping, and solutions implementation. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, highly visible team that’s reshaping digital advertising in the world’s largest home improvement retailer.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
40% - Collaborate with internal Partner Managers and Accounting teams plus external vendor partners to ensure timely receipt of invoices, resolution of invoice discrepancies, and establish payment arrangements. Escalate complex invoicing & collections situations to relevant internal stakeholders and serve as primary point of contact for resolution. Support miscellaneous billing requests from vendors.
20% - Accountable for leading and developing a team who will support billing & financial forecasting across the Retail Media team. Ensure they provide strong support for invoicing, payment pathing, collections, tracking, and reporting. Ensure rigorous quality control applied across billing team outputs.
15% - Assess current billing operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes. Support evaluation of potential new platform for automated / streamlined billing processes based on knowledge of billing needs and process pain points. Support integration of new finance & billing solutions to Retail Media Billing function.
15% - Support internal financial reporting requirements and provide necessary documentation for internal audit processes. Drive financial forecasting & tracking processes to support high level strategy for Retail Media partnerships team. Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of developed data.
10% - Maintain supporting Excel workbooks & internal documentation to enable transparent tracking of incremental contracts, marketing contracts, purchase orders, collections statuses, and monthly revenue actualization.
Nature and Scope
Typically reports to Sr. Manager or Director of Retail Media Platforms.
This role has up to 5 direct reports.
Environmental Job Requirements
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required: The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years
Physical Job Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, advertising, or a business-related field.
5-7 years professional experience in financial planning, tracking, and/or billing.
Experience managing projects/people and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience working in agency, retail, or professional services environments in finance and/or billing roles.
Experience working with SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience and/or willingness to learn about external billing & collections platforms (ex: EDI, Coupa, Ariba, Kenshoo, TapClicks, Accelitas, PromoteIQ).
Understanding of multi-step & split path invoicing systems, including ACH/credit card, contract-based invoicing, and direct invoicing.
A data-driven mindset and ability to leverage analysis to make business recommendations.
A strategic approach to execution, including an ability to identify process improvements.
