As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Course Description: PED-329 - Coach Soccer: Theory and Practice: This course is intended to introduce the profession of coaching soccer and to explore the issues of qualifications; player and coach development; coaching styles, philosophies, and objectives; motivation, team dynamics, and leadership; and sportspersonship. Special areas of emphasis include the fundamental skills and strategies of soccer, the application of sport-teaching fundamentals to skill and strategy presentation, conditioning, organizing practices and games, and player evaluation. The course also includes field experience—both on and off site—to integrate theory and skills with professional practice. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. Other main responsibilities include the following: Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University. Qualifications: Minimum: Masters in Exercise Science or Masters in Physical Education or Masters in any field with 9 graduate credits in Exercise Science or Physical Education AND two years professional experience Coaching Soccer AND Meets two Exceptional Expertise criteria.
