Job Summary:
Prepares the service stations for operation; prepares some limited food items; attractively displays product selections, serves guests courteously, practices portion control, and provides expeditious service. Sets up and serves catered events as needed. Assists in other areas with foodservice support. Maintains working areas and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition. May work in varied areas as needed to assure continuity of service. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while begin sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Complete other assignments as directed by supervisors.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate setup and serving at all stations.
- Demonstrate setup of salad bar and restocking during meal periods.
- Demonstrate portion control and serving food items to customers.
- Demonstrate customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers.
- Demonstrate proper cleaning and sanitizing of work station, restocking station for the next shift.
- Demonstrate proper operation, cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment in the food court. ï‚· Demonstrate proper procedure of rotating and dating food items.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Work Experience:
Some foodservice experience preferred. Will provide on the job training.
Mental Demands:
Ability to perform repetitive tasks under time pressures. Must interact in a friendly, helpful manner using tact and courtesy. Must be responsive to immediate instructions without complaint or delay. Must retain knowledge and skills of efficient and quality food service standards. Ability to avoid reacting personally with offense at customer complaints and criticism.
