Currently, we are seeking an Administrative Specialist to support our Operations Department and effectively manage the application process, recruitment, and onboarding of all potential new drivers. Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of administrative duties relating to functions and programs in all areas of operations; manages the recruitment and onboarding of potential new drivers from start to finish; provides information and assistance to the Operations Department as well as employees regarding operations activities, processes, policies, and procedures; prepares various correspondence and memoranda; coordinates activities related to area of assignment; and performs a variety of general administrative tasks requiring specialized knowledge related to area of assignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a wide variety of clerical, technical, administrative, and office support duties in support of the Operations Department.
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding process for new drivers by processing applications, scheduling drug screens, completing employment verifications, etc.
  • Assist Route Managers with processing of driver payroll
  • Research, compile, and analyze data for special projects and reports.
  • Perform a variety of general office support duties; make copies, maintain calendar of activities, meetings, and various events for assigned staff; process mail for the office including trips to the post office, receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondences and packages; coordinate ordering of all necessary office supplies
  • Operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, copier, fax, and scanner; utilize various computer applications and internet-based databases.
  • Perform related tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Administrative experience required, experience in the transportation industry a plus!
  • Strong computer skills
  • Outstanding planning and time management capabilities
  • Capable of adjusting priorities and deviating from routines
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Must have high attention to detail
