Primary Responsibilities

The Transportation BIM Specialist 2 role is to prepare complex structural drawings, diagrams, and documents using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. This includes developing CADD files based on notes, sketches, engineering schematics, technical guides, vendor information, and so on. The CADD Technician will produce CADD files in a timely and accurate fashion. This position may include duties involving artwork and other graphical elements. Responsibilities:
Produce Structural CADD models, contract documents and figures by collaborating with project engineers, designers, technicians.
Create project design drawings (models), contract drawings (Individual sheet files), facility layout, topographical design, and other types of drawings required.
Follow established CADD standards in regards to layering, dimensioning, text annotations, client standards and other aspects of CADD usage.
Review existing CADD drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
Edit, rework, and update CADD drawing files as required by design changes, modifications, additions, and so on.
Populate and maintain CADD information repository database.
Proofread and correct documentation errors.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years equivalent work experience as a CADD Technician, drafter, or technician.
At least 3 years direct industry experience operating CADD applications (i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation.).
Strong knowledge of system and CADD software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
Strong knowledge of drafting and Client standards.
Outstanding technical translation skills.
Excellent understanding of the company’s business goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Strong customer-service orientation.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Willing to learn and contribute additional technical aspects
May be required to work occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Facility (structural, piping and mechanical) experience
Prior structural engineering CAD related project experience
Civil 3D
