Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
Synchrony’s directory services environment and data are critical to the success of our digital workforce technologies and other business critical applications. The VP, Directory Services Technology will lead a team to architect, integrate and operate Synchrony’s active directory and directory services products. They will also ensure wing-to-wing data and configuration governance controls are in place for identity and critical authentication platforms. This position will work closely with our business partners on strategic IAM and corporate wide programs as a thought leader & key decision maker responsible for our directory services.

Essential Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this role will embrace the exciting blend of technical expertise, project management, engagement ability and leadership that is required to be successful.
Deliver active directory and directory service product strategies, operations and compliance, including service marketing, service lifecycle management, demand forecasting and reporting.
Provide product leadership for Oracle Unified Directory and Oracle Virtual Directory platforms.
Lead day-to-day UNIX/Linux LDAP operations and compliance.
Maintain deep hands on technical knowledge of Synchrony’s directory services technology architecture.
Understand and implement leading directory services industry trends, proposing strategies to migrate to and manage Synchrony’s private and public cloud environments.
Develop and maintain value driven business relationships through effective needs analysis, project management, customer service and problem resolution.
Advise business Technology teams on directory services technology issues and opportunities.
Improve reporting capability to continually inform stakeholders on the health and management of identity and critical authentication platforms.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
BS/BA in Computer Science / other Technical degree or Business Management and 5 years of Technology experience or in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of Technology experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the development and/or operational experience with the following product offerings: Oracle Unified Directory and Oracle Virtual Directory.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory (2008 and 2012) and related monitoring, management and reporting software, including Active Roles Server, GPO Admin, Recover Manager, Enterprise Reporting, Change Auditor.
Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing and maintaining Azure AD, AD Connect and ADFS.
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting centralized authentication mechanisms, directory site topologies, administering DNS, Infoblox, configuring Group Policy Objects, and designing & managing security in Active Directory.
Must have a proven record of designing, building and administering 24/7 directory service infrastructures and enterprise customer-facing services.
Demonstrated project leadership, facilitation, and customer service experience.
Basic understanding of Windows Server 2012, SQL Server and IIS.
Excellent analytical and scripting skills including proficiency with SQL, Powershell, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Characteristics:
Microsoft certifications (MCSE, MCITP, MCTS).
Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Sailpoint Identity IIQ, Bomgar Privileged Identity (formerly Lieberman Rapid Enterprise Defense (RED) Identity Management) and RSA Authentication Manager
Strong analytical and clear-thinking skills
Experience in enterprise level security in a financial institution
Experience with other Identity Hubs/Virtual Directories like Radiant Logic FID
Experience with Identity Brokers/IDaaS solutions like Okta, PingOne, AWS SSO
Experience with CASBs (Cloud Access Security Brokers)
Strong commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences.
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and can do attitude with the flexibility to change directions quickly.
Superior written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead others through change.
Experience with the process of creating, maintaining and reviewing operations process & end user training documentation.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
