BIOTRIAL is seeking Clinical Research Technicians to work at its U.S. headquarters, a state-of-the art Clinical Pharmacology Unit in Newark, New Jersey. Full-Time (day shift) and Per Diem (overnight shift) positions are available.
The Clinical Research Technician will have responsibility for ensuring proper collection of biological samples from study participants according to protocol and will perform laboratory processing of samples. The position will report to the Clinical Unit Coordinator and work in close collaboration with the Clinical Research Team.
Responsibilities:
The Clinical Research Technician will:
- Participate in screening examinations (urine drug screen, preparation, and management of the inclusion of biological results, transmission of results to volunteers).
- Prepare sampling tubes (labeling, storing, etc.).
- Draw and treat blood samples (centrifugation, pipetting, and performing platelets aggregation).
- Manage blood and/or urine samples for studies.
- Participate in monitoring measurements, i.e., cardiovascular (ECG) and psychometric tests.
- Ensure proper use and control of clinical unit’s equipment.
- Recommend more efficient working methods; participate in the development and implementation of new processes and operating procedures.
- Ensure that work remains in compliance with regulatory guidelines, quality control standards, and the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the principal investigator and clinical unit coordinator.
- Maintain good communications and keep the Clinical Research Team fully informed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in scientific area of study preferred but not required
- Completion of Medical Assistant training that includes phlebotomy, vital signs, and ECG.
- Phlebotomist Certification required.
- 1 years of experience in lab processing and lab procedures preferred.
- Experience with PAP8, Pentra 60 and PFA equipment a plus.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
