The Seeing Eye, Inc., the oldest existing guide dog school in the world, is seeking an experienced, dynamic and detail-oriented Events Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing donor events from inception to completion. This role will involve overseeing our annual online auction and dinner party, managing peer-to-peer events, organizing campus visits, and executing out-of-state events. The Events Manager will play a crucial role in achieving our fundraising goals and enhancing our organization's outreach efforts.
For 95 years, The Seeing Eye has enhanced the independence, dignity, and self-confidence of people who are blind through the use of Seeing Eye® dogs. From its picturesque main campus just outside Morristown, NJ, and a nearby state-of-the-art breeding station, The Seeing Eye’s 170-member staff serves an average of 260 people who are blind and visually impaired annually, providing training with specially bred Seeing Eye dogs.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and execute donor events, including—but not limited to—online auction and dinner party, galas, fundraising dinners, and out-of-state appreciation events, ensuring a seamless experience from beginning to end.
- Oversee and attend Peer-to-peer fundraising events, providing support and guidance to participants to maximize their fundraising efforts.
- Coordinate and attend on-campus visits, including tours for donors, corporate partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring a positive and informative experience.
- Coordinate all aspects of events, including travel arrangements, venue selection, program development, catering, entertainment, decorations, mailings, marketing, data entry, and audiovisual needs.
- Work closely with each event’s sponsor and oversee event volunteer committees.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Provide strategy for future events using data analytics.
- Oversee event timelines, ensuring all milestones are met, and deadlines are adhered to.
Candidate Profile:
- Ability to build donor relationships that motivate enduring relationships with The Seeing Eye
- Ability to be a self-starter with strong evidence of entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to demonstrate innovation/problem solving skills when making decisions
- Ability to handle multiple priorities/deadlines
- Ability to communicate persuasively person-to-person, in public speaking forums, and in all types of written communication
- Proficient at word processing, data entry and able to use technology to gather/interpret data.
- Possess a professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Willingness to travel
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- 4+ years of demonstrated success planning and executing events, as well as working closely with volunteers and donors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
