Patent Paralegal (Temporary)

UB Greensfelder currently has an opening for a Temporary PatentParalegal with 5+ years of experience for our Chicago-East or St. Louis office.
The ideal candidate will have proficiency in the following areas:

Preparing, drafting, reviewing, and electronically filing patent documents (and preferably also trademark documents), preparing information disclosure statements, preparing assignment agreements, coordinating foreign filings, drafting letters, preparing office action shell responses, and monitoring status of IP portfolios.

Assisting attorney by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; working closely with docketing group; monitoring docket reports and deadlines; assisting with docketing functions as needed; preparing status reports for internal and client use; and performing due diligence activities

Coordinating monitoring and payment of annuities and maintenance fees, including client correspondences
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Representing attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.

Recording billable time for certain activities.

Effective and regular maintenance and use of electronic and paper filing and retrieval systems; recording meeting discussions; maintaining transcripts; documenting and maintaining evidence.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, set reasonable priorities and manage time and deadline driven workload.

Working with multiple people across different offices that have different working styles.

High attention to detail with data entry and auditing of Intellectual Property resources to resolve complex docketing issues.

Communicating effectively and professionally with attorneys and staff, as well as clients.

Prioritizing projects.

Performing other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required and a college degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred. Experience within the intellectual property group in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.5+ years previous experience with IP docketing software program(s).Proficient in basic computer applications, strong data entry skills, and patent prosecution.Experience with Pattsy (or equivalent), NetDocs (or equivalent), and Microsoft Suite of products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
