Greenfield Rehab and Nursing Center, located in Royal Oak, Michigan, is currently accepting applications for a Registered Nurse/Certified WOUND CARE NURSE in their long-term care facility. Our primary mission is the delivery of compassionate & professional heath care in a safe and secure environment with dignity and respect. The WOUND CARE NURSE develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care for residents with wound care needs within our 100 bed LTC facility. This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing.

RN - Wound Care Nurse Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides education on wounds and skin integrity for patients, families and nursing staff
  • Responsible for assessing skin alterations, developing plans of care, implementing order and
  • treatments and evaluating progress of specialized skin and wound conditions
  • Provides direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care
  • Evaluates new admissions and participates in weekly wound team rounds
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Previous experience working in wound care or demonstrated interest/aptitude in wound care skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals

RN - Wound Care Nurse Qualifications:

  • Current, Valid and Active Michigan State License as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Wound Care Certification is required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • 2-4 Years of previous experience with wound care in a long-term care facility

RN - Wound Care Nurse Physical Demands/Environment:

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or finger, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. Employees will occasionally assist to lift and/or transfer patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
